Christine Cridland


Christine is a licensed and registered occupational therapist with over 20 years of experience. Her true love is helping children in their school setting, with an emphasis on supporting handwriting skills. As a National Workshop Presenter for Handwriting Without Tears®, Christine has traveled the United States presenting over 140 workshops in the last 7 years. She brings unique experience learning and sharing with teachers, administrators and parents about current handwriting strategies that lead to academic success.

Purpose & Objectives

To provide instruction about methods that support writing and typing skills for learners with ASD. Participants will learn:

  • Developmental stages of writing skills and typing skills
  • Adaptive techniques and modifications for learning writing and typing skills
  • And develop solutions to meeting functional communication needs

Sensory Strategies for People on the Autism Spectrum

Purpose & Objectives

To teach the complexities of sensory seeking behaviors and learn ways to support the sensory needs of people on the autism spectrum. Participants will learn:

  • What we know about sensory integration, what supports we have tried, and the reasons we have tried them
  • Observable behaviors and what people on the autism spectrum are seeking through those behaviors
  • How to identify sensory preferences in order to offer better strategies
